Decarnin OUT and Rousteing IN at BALMAIN

It’s said that Olivier Rousteing, who worked closely with Christophe Decarnin during his six years as Creative Director of Balmain, is about to be promoted.

Decarnin’s absence was first noticed after the AW11 show in Paris last month—the show ended, the audience waited, and no one took a bow. Reports immediately surfaced that the designer had either entered a mental hospital, been too exhausted to bow, or had already been fired by the brand. He popped up at parties later that night, but Balmain officially “ended their relationship” a few weeks ago. Instead of conducting a search it sounds like the Parisian house is sticking to what works, or who works, in this case.

Rousteing, who’s French, has been at Balmain since 2009, following nine years at Roberto Cavalli. He faces a pretty big challenge—Decarnin managed to reinvent the brand and con people into spending four figures on ripped t-shirts, but his rock n’ roll spell rubbed off a few seasons ago which means Rousteing may have even more inventing to do. We’ll have to wait and see what he does come September. True to his word, Tom Ford finally bestowed his fall 2011 collection upon the Internet a full four months after its exclusive presentation at London Fashion Week in February. It's in the form of a video look book starring real models like Abbey Lee Kershaw, Karlie Kloss, and Daphne Groeneveld instead of Ford's celebrity friends. There's lots of close-fitting black lace, tailored velvet dresses, and a shaggy red coat that is sure to be as ubiquitous as that shaggy blue dress was last winter. Anyway, now that it's out, will celebrities and magazines go as apeshit over this stuff as they did before?

Miuccia Prada Is Clocking Work

As Prada prepares for its initial public offering in Hong Kong later this month, details that were once kept private about the company are now being filed publicly. Last week, we learned that Prada is estimated to be worth some $15 billion; Now, thanks to a 450-page document released today by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange website, we know that Miuccia Prada earned 9.7 million euros (approx. $14.1 million) last year, while her husband and Prada CEO Patrizio Bertelli made 10 million euros (approx. $14.6 million) in the same period of time — making them "two of fashion’s best-paid stars," as WWD points out.

After being named the world’s most luxurious brand, Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2011 collection ad campaign is ready for release. The ambience of the ad is 1940s rich and bourgeois. This time the brand chose six energetic, young and simply beautiful girlsto present their ad. The models age are: Zuzanna Bijoch (17), Daphne Groeneveld (16), Gertrud Hegelund (20), Anaïs Pouliot (19) and Fei Fei Sun (21).

After many speculations about who will be the lucky six girls that will be featured on the Fall Winter 2011 campaign of Louis Vuitton, WWD confirmed and posted these first images of the campaign photographed by the renowned Steven Meisel and another amazing collaboration of Pat McGrath and Guido Palau in makeup and hair section!

These amazing images styled by Karl Templer with vaguely fetishistic fashions, furs, exotic skinned bags, pooches and vintage cars. The campaign is slated to break in magazine issues by August 2011.

Long time Chanel and Lagerfeld muse Inès de la Fressange makes her return to the runways of Chanel. It's been ages, 20 years to be exact, since the two (Lagerfeld and Fressange) spoke because of a falling out, but word on the fashion street is that the two has left the past behind and finally moved on. Karl Lagerfeld revealed that she, who's respectively been the face of Chanel in the eighties, will appear in the campaign with Stella Tennant, Freja Beha and Baptiste Giabiconi.

It was big named supers like Inès de la Fressange, Stella Tennant and Carmen Kass walking through a minimal black and white Chanel Garden Maze donning gradient feathers, chokers, platforms, chiffon bundles of joys and signature tweeds for Spring 2011. Each look resulted in my drooling. The collection was very romantic, fresh, young and modern; the thigh-high leather platforms and Lagerfeld signature fingerless gloves gave it the needed edge. There were bedazzling knits, poppy florals, embroided denim, and exquisite tweeds resulting in fringe. I lived for those 1950's inspired skirts and gowns. There also was a sexy revision of the classic Chanel tweed suits from a light cropped tweed blazer paired with a micro mini skirt and/or cute matching short shorts. The reinvention of the large black umbrella that resemble a sun hat was so Parisian, cute and clever. Karl Lagerfeld played with tailoring, structure and cut in allot of his pieces for Chanel this season which I find to be quit admirable. Details, details, details and more details was definitely the focus. From Chanel, we've seen that hair jewelry is a must, there is no such thing as over accessorizing and I'm so glad that the fingerless gloves are back!

Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2011

Stefano Pilati's idea of sexy for Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2011 was demure, simple, romantic and chic. Without being too gaudy and obnoxious, Pilati created pieces YSL this season that was sexy for the conservative women, so slits at the sides of of a shift, semi cleavage hear and a little nipple action was all needed for provocation. There was allot of soft sophistication in this collection. He toyed with drapery on trenches, pants and blouses alike. I seen allot of the mid to late 60's take on the classic Yves Saint Laurent "Le Smoking" tuxedo only this time it was presented as a jumpsuit rather than the typical tuxedo suit. In between came bowed blouses, blasts of color, cabans, paysanne ruffles, clouds of marabou, long forties lines, exotica, erotica, and more. It was a comprehensive guided tour of the YSL universe. This collection truly explained the Saint Laurent woman who is highly sophisticated, conserved with allot elegance, dash of spunk and humor.

Dark, exotic and just flat out unleashing your inner beast in maitenance of one's beauty is the best way to sum up what Riccardo Tisci delivered for Givenchy Spring 2011. There was broad details and a tailored focus, picking up where he left off last Fall, the coats and blazer were still long and masculine in cut but only this time they came in whites, sheers, chiffons, leopard prints and even off black. The women looked like evil spirits from the dark ages on a fashionable hunt for their prey. There was a psychotic twist and illusion to the clothing; the silhouette was extremely sleek and thin and just an well executed presentation of a dominant sexy victorian woman.

Balmain Spring 2011

Burberry started the punk trend for this Spring, Balenciaga followed, and Christophe Decarnin completed it for Balmain Spring 2011. Strunken and tattered distressed studded leather motorcycle jackets, acid washed skinnies part deux, and sexy ghetto stillettos were all in the likes of Decarnin this season. There was a subtle edge with a new and improved chic aspect of being a rock star. Was he thinking of Courtney Love or Gwen Stefani in the process of creating such a hardcore collection? Possibly. Ultra skinny jeans cut above the ankles, sequins, studs, sexy corsets and manipulated tees in American flag prints all screamed rebellion. It also looks like leather short shorts won't be going any where for a while either. What was shockingly missing, which I'm thankful for (no offense) were the huge shoulders that I'm glad is long gone and Decarnin did enough of it to make us all satisfied. However, I didn't see one ball gown or any type of evening wear on the runway for this collection. Maybe he is showing us he refuses to have his Balmain woman dress up anymore and carrying out such strong dressed down pieces manifests his rebellious message. If that makes any sense, but I think you all get my drift. Overall, Balmain still gave us every thing we love plus more about the highly expensive couture fashion house. How much are those motos going to cost us this season Decarnin? Will I have get my mother to sale her eggs and chop off my left foot for one? If that's the case, it doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Balenciaga Spring 2011

Still in maintenance to his signature youthful futurism under the French fashion house; picking up where he left off last season, Nicolas Ghesquiere was definitely in a punky and viscous mood as shown in his Spring 2011 collection for Balenciaga. He was also probably thinking of dressing the Balenciaga women like a boy from the masculine cut and fit of each motorcycle jacket, the sloppy, but also chic aspect of a poppy colored flannel half tucked in and the bagginess of the pants slouching below the waist and tight at the ankles. The Doc Martin inspired shoes were among all my faves that came in flaming metallic red, and blue with studded details underneath. The cocoon shaped coat displayed in sequins and/or tweed details with overly structured leather sleeves, payed homage to the classic British culture. `There were also feminine doses thrown out here and there in every other look from the triangular shaped mini skirts and sequins with lace shifts that created an illusion of hologramed pieces of clothing balancing the collection out. The tailoring of the boy cut blazers were beyond exquisite. I mean!!! I'm literally head over hills for these pieces. Ghesquiere's inspiration was executed incredibly well and having super models Carolyn Murphy, pregnant Miranda Kerr, Amber Valletta and Gisele Bundchen closing was the cherry on top of a delicious ice cream sundae.

We knew the cover would star Lara Stone, but we didn't know it would also star HER BREASTS, which are so in for fall and make her face beside the point. Hakaan Spring 2011

Making a move from London to Paris is just another stepping for the new "it" designer Hakaan Yildirim. Yildirim made a big impression at his first show in London last season, so much so that he won this year's competitive €220,000 ANDAM prize. As a result, observers were wondering if the clothes would live up to all the advance billing. It was an abstract and body conscious world for Hakaan this season and he casted the right woman to represent his collection. Picking up where his Fall collection left all, minus the fur and this type everything in leather and white, Hakaan created structural and sexy silhouettes that only woman like J.Lo, Naomi, or Gisele can look stunning in. Beautiful body-con mini dresses, chic jumpsuits, and just allot of skin baring. I thought collection was really cute and highly dynamic in it's place of location now, Paris is where he belongs. He's on the rise and can only see Hakaan Yildirim exceeding higher.

First Look: +J Jil Sander for Uniqlo Fall 2010 Collection

Jil Sander's third and most comprehensive +J collection for Uniqlo — 169 pieces — hits stores on Oct. 7, one year to the day after the premiere collection's launch.
Sander, who has signed on to do the collection through 2013, introduced her Fall 2010 offering to Hilary Alexander. The palette runs black, navy, white, silver-grey, beige, and all shades of blue — "Storm to sky," Sander says. There's a silvery down jacket with little leggings ("almost couture," Sander notes); a midnight felt coat, with detachable gilet and hood ("the most expensive felt, and real buttons, NOT plastic, which we hate"); a black wool and cashmere jacket ("very Jil Sander"); duffle coats in pewter wool, tight-fitted, and high-waisted ("they could be £2,000 at designer level"). The collection ranges from $15.90 for cut-and-sewn to $229.90 for outerwear.

Naomi Campbell is celebrating 25 years in the business this year, and Dolce & Gabbana threw her a party to honor the occasion during London Fashion Week. Our auntie Nay-Nay continues to show and prove her irreplaceability thorough gracing the October 2010 cover of Interview Magazine. She quotes in this issue: "Listen, I make many mistakes. Many mistakes. I’m not a perfect human being. I have to learn from my mistakes. And a lot of the ones I’ve made have been public. So I always get nervous when people speak about something that sounds like a role model, because I don’t know if I’ve been a great role model myself. I don’t think I have in certain aspects of my life . . . But I’m trying to do better. I admit to my mistakes. I admit to the things that I’ve done wrong. I admit it. But I’m trying to do right by myself and my life now." This is why we love, a strong woman of color who stands her grounds and through thick and thin; stood for a purpose and showed the world why she's still the greatest at what she does. Kind of picking up where he left off with Fall 2010, Peter Dundas gave us the 70's for Emilio Pucci Spring 2011 collection by also paying a bit of homage to the late Yves Saint Laurent with the safari inspired pieces. The collection was all kinds of sexy and bohemian chic. From the jersey t-shirt gowns, signature prints that came mainly in oceanic blues and pale pinks and those thigh high suede lace up stilettos. There were also schoolboy blazers and low-slung flares mixed up with whipstitched leathers that I loved the most. Flared pants has never looked so good since Dundas presented a pair in leather that I'm literally dying for. The bartering of blood begins now after this collection. We've seen the seventies every where this season and Dundas gave it the boost everyone lacked (no offense) I would say. Dundas continues to show us all why he was meant to be under the Pucci house from the start.

Very sexy, flashy, over the top glamozons fronting Grecian drapery and armored feathers with a smack of the early 80's. Frida Gianni created a Spring 2011 collection that consisted of everything we love but also do not like about Gucci and that's it's commercial route. Gucci for the past three, four season reviews has received nothing but poor comparisons to the mass market department store like Zara. I felt this season Gianni had it, but didn't hold on. Gucci is starting to lack strength and it's well known flashy and adorable Italian wealth it once held. Another thing about the collection, it lacked what we all expected from the house this season and that's leather goods. I'm sorry but a collection of quiet, classic and collection of neutrals has already been done before by Prada in Spring 2007 and done way better at that.

Miuccia Prada created an electrifying Sci-Fi display of minimalism for Prada Spring 2011 that gave the 1920's a new name. The hits of electric blues, green, orange, hot pink and radioactive violet enhanced that cartoonish illusion. I mean the idea of a neon orange shift for Spring with sky scraping platforms is so bold that it's great. Prada's Spring 2011 delivery was crystal clear, bold and extremely maxim in every aspect of each print, shift, top and skirt. Literally I can not breathe over Prada right now and can we talk about those cherubs?!?! OMG For a start, they looked as though they were plucked from a curlicued baroque interior and all mixed up with bananas and naive monkeys in an exuberantly cartoonish print. I may have to sell my kidneys or barter my blood on the black market to afford Prada right now. Hope you are aware of this fact and prostitution is not out of the question I will have you all know!! I also seen a little futuristic aspects in her collection not because of the collection's scenery, but rather over those jungle like prints, reminiscent of McQueens final Spring 2010 collection and those quirky fun science fictional like sunglasses. And of course, the finger waves, yes ladies and gent, Prada brought back the finger waves hunny!! Miuccia knows the woman's body and she knows it well enough to create such iconic pieces that embraces a woman's shape without being too obvious or obnoxious.

Fendi Spring 2011

Karl Lagerfeld displayed a fresh new romantic Fendi girl for Spring 2011 that's casual, classic, simple and chic; with lots of spice and everything nice. Exuberant colors, poppy red lips, very feminine in shape and drapery. The collection with held such an enlightened softness from the bellowing chiffons that came in teals, purples, beige's and even electric blues; cinched waists from cute belts of all sizes, of course an ultra high heel with platforms and it would not be Fendi without any exquisite furs. How refreshing of Lagerfeld, so far the collections we've seen throughout Spring 2011 has been extremely strong and fierce, Karl's put things on a much lighter note for Fendi which always gets me excited for what he has next in stored for Chanel.

Burberry Spring 2011

Screw paying my tuition fees, I think I'll invest in a python skin Burberry trench for next spring. The 90's is back in full effect in the mind of Christopher Bailey. The collection reminded me of the old typical New York scene before bottle service became de rigueur when girls still walked home from their nights trashed and barefoot. The acid toned colored micro mini dresses, the lean and long silhouettes and the shrunken motorcycle jackets with cascades of spikes and studs is all a mix of the early Tom Fords that we loved and that funky 90's grunge. I've been calling it out since last summer, the 90's is definitely making a return and even harder this time. Thank you Bailey for speaking my lango. Obsessing over the thin teal waist belts paired with literal palm sized neon colored clutches. The collection was luxurious punk and I guess unless it's Burberry, you should not be wearing leather pants at all next summer.

Mary Katrantzou Spring 2011

London is known as the home of infamous designers like the late and great Alexander McQueen, Christopher Bailey, Peter Coppings, Matthew Williamson, Gareth Pugh, and I would love to induct Mary Katrantzou. Now I have to be honest, I'm not to fond of London Fashion Week at all because, it's just not my taste, except Burberry, but Mary Katrantzou served this season and I just had to share her work and my thoughts on such a beautiful master piece she's created for this season. For Spring 2011, Mary Katrantzou delivered an artful, girly, and fantasy psychedelic driven collection. I loved it all. It was so sweet, fun, exquisite and absolutely brilliant! The cute Easter colored collection featured thigh high mini dresses that came in bedazzling embroidery, structure, fringe and extremely body conscious. She even added trompe l'oeil interior details to the clothes which I give her hats off and a round of applauds for. Very unique, fresh and strong. Just the start of another rising Brit designer. She's become one of my new favorite designers.

Jack and Lazaro has given simplicity a new name with their Spring 2011 collection for Proenza Schouler. Young, fresh, light and colorful, their meaning of a cool Proenza Schouler girl. The collection was extremely feminine in color, and style, but masculine in cut. The structure of their plunging U-Line boxy blazers, tees, and tied-dyed knee length dresses were so beautiful. I'm obsessed with the slouchy fit and embroidery of each piece. Very condensed and slightly uniformed, the collection was definitely made to be dressed either up or down and that's what I love about it the most. The two (Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez) always surprises us all and never do they disappoint.

Rodarte Spring 2011

There was something very demure and shockingly light about Rodarte's Spring 2011 collection. Unpredictable, if there was one word to describe, that would be it! Hourglass dresses with cutaway shoulders, jacquard, lace, and gold were all in the likes of their provocative masterpiece. The collection with held a fantasy, sucking you into the minds of the Mulleavy sisters in which their inspiration stemmed from the backyard of their childhood home in California. They played with allot of structure and drapery. I even saw a little bit of pieces that were inspired by the likes of a Grecian goddess. The olive greens clashed with gold, mustard yellow, browns, and even a splash of several shades of blues; ironically blended and made enough sense for you to get their point of moving on to the next level. Its the new Rodarte I like to call it. Showing us that their not all about manipulated and shredded pieces of fabrics that's ridiculously expensive.

Who'd of thought sweat pants, a sports bra, and light wind breaker would be the talk of town. Sportswear has really owned up to it's name this season for Spring 2011. The "go as you are," is the the trend this season, comfort wear at it's best. Less is more and young New York designers like Alexander Wang, Ohne Titel, and Rag & Bone can be the fault of that.

Swinging Seventies Baby!!!

Marc Jacobs was really going through something in the state of creating such an exquisite collection. Just think Jerry Hall at Studio 54 in the height of her career and Farrah Fawcett's eye catching beauty in Charlie's Angels. It was a combination of sexiness, radiance, elegance, funk, and romanticism. Allot of color, light knits, and peasant dresses, very Parisian. I mean, can we talk about those wide brimmed straw hats?!?! OMG Dying for one of those with a set of cat-eyes next summer! The clutches and chain-link-shoulder bags created such a clean and chic touch to each look. Orchett flower inspired pieces that set either on the right sides of the girl's heads, or singed the waists of a top or dress. From the strappy platforms, to the sexy satin silks, Jacobs refined the seventies for Spring 2011 and did it at the most simplistic manner. I'm yearning for that cardigan below!

Rag and Bone Spring 2011 delivery of sports and comfort wear from a retrospective eye. I loved it all. The hardcore color palette of electric blues, whites, nude, black and eye-catching reds was a reflection of what the cool girls want to look like on their best day. The collection was fun, girly, a tab bit of futurism through their fabric choices and extremely sexy. The lightness of of each pant suit and blazer was very clever and I love the idea of running out in a buckled up sports bra. In many ways, that's so chic. Above all, I was impressed by the styling. The men are moving on up.

The collection's focus on the movement and embracing the woman's body is the Altuzarra signature that we all love. It was a combination of sex appeal, culture, and mad max retrospective goodness. The cut of each piece was very divine and strong. SEXY! SEXY! SEX-SAY!! LOVE IT ALL! His way of being slutty, without being slutty. Made only for woman that could wear it well.

The collection in one word: fresh. White on white with a splash of mint and copper, were all in the likes for Alexander Wang's Spring 2011 soft, masculine, and chic minimal collection. It was a season of optimism for Alex, in which his collection was inspired by white out. Fresh, modern, and in maintenance the Wang signature with it's cool downtown essence. The silhouette on each pant, top, and jacket alike was very sleek and simple. I found this collection of being his way of stepping away from that grimy hippy edginess, to something more chic and classic. I love the masculine fit, and the draping of each piece that flew down the runway so elegantly. Oddly for Wang, I thought the collection was very romantic, rather than his usual punky hardcore aroma he gives off in each collection. Amazing, and he always pushes the envelope each season.

Kate Moss is featured lying on a leather sofa and she is dressed in leather from top to toe. The image is too small to say whether Kate looks good or not. The clothing is stylish though.

Taking into consideration the fact Chanel Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 collection was absolutely fabulous I sincerely expected to see no less wonderful ad campaign to promote it. But judging by the first photos that leaked into the Internet my hopes were not realized.

The two models Abbey Lee Kershaw and Freja Beha Erichsen look perfect in fur outfits from the collection but I don’t really like the place Karl Lagerfeld has chosen for the photo shoot. It’s just an ordinary block of flats in New York. Did he want to show that his outfits would look appropriate at any place? The idea is not clear.

People have said that the person who loaned out the dresses should have been fired for sending out the same dresses to so many competing publications.

Miranda Kerr and her puppy got the 3D treatment for Vogue Italia's September 2010 Issue, a treatment that I'm personally over, which I believe should be left for children books not fashion publications. It's stupid, and make it complicating for you to read. Really can't deal, however Kerr's beauty sought of lightens it up for, making it kind of okay...I guess. The cover (which features Kerr and her Yorkshire terrier Frankie) and accompanying editorial spread — which was likely shot when Kerr was around two to three months pregnant — is part of Vogue Italia's September 3D theme. The issue comes with a pair of 3D glasses, as another editorial inside is also 3D: The Scent of the Future shot by Tim Walker. Vogue Italia is not the first Vogue to try out the 3D concept — Isabeli Fontana appeared in 3D in Vogue Mexico's April issue.

Prada made waves when they showed their Fall/Winter 2010 collection using curvier-than-model-thin models on their runway by selecting the likes of Angela Lindvall, Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio and Lara Stone to walk their show which aimed to ‘redefine sexy’.

And refined sex appeal is just what their F/W 2010 campaign oozes, drawing inspiration from the Mad Men-inspired runway show. Miuccia Prada has also retained some of the ‘curvy’ girls she had walk the runway – Angela Lindvall and Miranda Kerr play starring roles in a campaign which also features Valerija Kelava, Kim Dall Armi, Daria Strokous, Clement Chabernaud, Mark Cox, Sigrid Agren and Mathias Berrgh.

Photographed by Steven Meisel, the models all star in the womenswear and menswear campaign, distinct only by the fact that womenswear is in full colour while the menswear campaign is in black and white.

I love the seductive vibe in the images that feature Lindvall perched on a stool seemingly serenading the crowd. Miranda Kerr, again, shows signs of versatility in this high end fashion campaign – not that looking sexy and seductive is that much of a stretch for one who does it for the big bucks for Victoria’s Secret as one of their main ‘Angels’.

Romantic, soft, girly, chic, fresh, young, simplicity, and pure beauty were all the words, if not more, to describe Valentino Fall 2010 haute couture collection in Paris displayed earlier. No longer making your typical ball gown floor length with a train, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli sent mini gowns (I like to call 'em) down the runways in gracious navys, blacks, creams, reds, and off-whites. Cute bows singed the waist of each dress, sat at the tips of each shoes, and at the ends of each and every uber chic glove. Tim Blanks called Chiuri's and Piccioli's display of being a teen psychodrama, calling it haute couture for the "Twilight" generation in which I very much agree on. Still pushing Valentino towards that younger image, their message was established loud and clear. I can see my little 15yrs old sister donning the first look Freja's sporting. The collection was one of my favorites, capturing the image of the "today," Valentino gal. Out with the "OLD!" In with the "NEW!"

A thirty foot gold lion stood in the middle of the stage at Grand Palais, Paris for Chanel. The symbolism in this aspect, 'Coco' was a Leo. Chanel Fall 2010 Haute Couture showing was a golden roar of opulence and glitter tweeds. Get ready for the return of the slouchy boot, mid-calfed, heeled, Mad Max embroidery, velvet, and brocade jeweled satin, which were all in the likes of Lagerfeld this season for Fall 2010 Chanel haute couture. I looked at it as clothing suitable for the Queen of England. Old English royalty. Lagerfeld played with shape, structure, and details in all the right place this season. Clothing for a woman with high taste. The gold which I normally find to be tacky, wasn't tacky at all. Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld, and he'll get it done right.

The Garden of Eden? Alice and Wonderland? Tropical forrest? Nope, nope, nope, and nope! None of the above, just the powerful and brilliant mind of John Galliano for Chrisitan Dior Haute Couture Fall 2010. I know this collection made Anna Wintour the happiest woman on earth because no matter what season it is, the woman thrives for color and that is what Galliano displayed with his Haute Couture collection for the elegant Dior woman. Every gown, every piece in each collection were inspired by real flowers. Even the shoes, in which the heel of the shoe resembled a plant’s tangling stem. The collection with held vibrance and soft romanticism in every look. The models hair shaped high up resembling a rose petal, and or the petal of a tulip, with fierce make-up and colored plastic wrapped around their heads, making them a human bouquet of flowers. Timeless, soft, and sexy, the three words that symbolizes Dior and John Galliano nailed those words on everyone’s heads who were lucky enough to see the beautiful showing front row.

It was Chantilly lace, gold embroidery, and feathers at it’s best with Riccardo Tisici for Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2010 collection. Instead of a runway show like the rest, Tisci opted out of a proper show in favor of intimate presentations, where he could better highlight detailed pieces. From front to back, each piece was well detailed, I considered it as Riccardo Tisci’s take on an Egyptian goddess. He displayed romantic goth like gowns that cascaded in lace, a bit sexy and yet hardcore with the gold on top of gold bejewels. A beautiful and strong exquisite collection for the ages.

Shot by Steven Meisel, Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova star in Louis Vuitton's just-released fall 2010 campaign. The supers sat elegantly, giving face in a dressing room. Vuitton cast models that reflect the curvy, diverse, more mature aesthetic of its runway-show models. Jacobs chose the perfect trio for this season's campaign, I could not of seen it being done any better.

Marc Jacobs selected Christy Turlington, Natalia Vodianova, and Karen Elson — coincidentally, none of whom walked in the collection's show — for the accompanying campaign. "This season we are working with three of the most beautiful women, I think, in the world," he says in the making-of video. "[A] Blonde, brunette, and a redhead." They also span one model in her 20s, one in her 30s, and one in her 40s. This marks the fourth Vuitton campaign captured by Steven Meisel, who constructed the '50s set in a Manhattan studio space.

Shows for Givenchy Haute Couture is No More

Givenchy is said to be taking Haute Couture off the runways as of this July, and in replacement, will be holding a presentation for private clients, press, and buyers only to make it more exclusive. Well geesh, that sucks! I love the shows, it gives the collection more life, and makes looking at the garments much more fun and exciting! Wouldn't you agree? At the end of the day, I guess Tisci got to do what he thinks is best, but I am going to miss the big name models in dark eye make up, stomping the couture runways in black and bedazzling Givenchy ensembles.

Models Raquel Zimmermann and my fave new gal, Joan Smalls naps on the hood of car for Gucci's Fall 2010 ad campaign.

For their new campaign Gucci enlists once again top photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, this time long time face of the brand Natasha Poly is replaced by Raquel Zimmermann with Joan Smalls and Nikola Jovanovic.

Peter Lindbergh's Come Back to Vogue

After taking a 18 year absence from the Vogue pages, Peter Lindbergh makes his come back in Vogue's July 2010 issue. Natalia Vodianova was the model that went behind the lens of Lindbergh for his late 50's inspired shoot. The styling was complimentary of the great Grace Coddington of course, whom along with Anna Wintour, asked the photographer to come back. It is still unclear if this is his first and last time in many years, of shooting for Vogue again. I hope this is just a new beginning, and that we will be seeing more of Lindbergh's work in the many issues to come! Look below, and tell me what you think.

Mullberry for Target

More news on the Target x Mulberry collection: There will be eight styles in total, and several of the bags will be made out of fabrics less-cheap-looking than pleather.
The limited edition bags–available at most Target stores and at Target.com from October 10 through December 24 of this year–will be “inspired by” the British firm’s aesthetic. So while there will probably be versions of popular styles like the Alexa and Roxanne, they won’t be exact replicas. I still regret not buying the gray jersey Gap x Mulberry Roxanne bag (they also did the Bayswater in red jersey). Let’s hope Mulberry is yet again inspired by the cozy fabric.

Proenza Schouler Cruise 2011

Everything with Proenza Schouler just gets bigger and better each season. This Cruise collection Proenza kind of took a tribal route. Really cute knits, and woven like pieces that came in wild earth tone prints, and colors were displayed. I found their collection of having a bit of a cute, prepping wit about everything, but also maintaining that Proenza Schouler edge that we all love Lazaro and Jack for. The PS1 this season, also came at a much larger size, and in colors like lime green and lemon yellow, and I wonder how much that's going to cost me?!?!? The jackets and tops alike were cut well, and shorts that touched just above the thigh, and complimented by printed button-up top, tucked in, gave it that chic factor. The collection was really beautiful. I also found the pieces of being their take on a new safari attire, very tribal. It was all soooo cute and uber chic. Die and live for everything that's Proenza!!!

Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Round 3

How do we feel about Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony? Cropped tops, micro mini shorts, floral prints, ultra high heels, calf high socks, graphic tees, and funky eyewear were all in the likes of Miss Sevingy for Opening Ceremony's Resort 2011 collection. I think it's quite fun, hip, and uber cute. The collection was made for your typical downtown gal, and extremely New York driven. It was her kind of mixing the old with the new you know. Each look held a vintage essence, fit for a girly girl who loves to have fun and play with fashion like ourselves! Really cute, I love it, and I hope her collaboration with the company never ends, I'm still bummed I missed that leopard print cardigan she made for fall. They all sold out! If you know where I can snag one, let yo'sistah know please!!! Between, can we talk about these shoes she made for Resort??? I meannnnn gagging on another level, and can't even. Chloë WERQ!

Christie’s was set to auction a portion of Isabella Blow’s wardrobe — over 90 Alexander McQueen outfits, 50 Philip Treasy hats, and Manolo Blahnik shoes — this September, but Suzy Menkes reports that Daphne Guinness privately bought the entire collection. “It’s Issy — it’s her DNA — it should not be scattered to the four winds,” Guinness explained. “I want it to remain as a monument.”

Marc Jacobs Cruise 2011

Unlike Chanel, and Balenciaga who chose the 70's, Marc Jacobs took the 60's route with his Cruise/Resort 2011 collection. I prefer to say "Cruise," because I think the word "Resort," with fashion is kind of ugly. Back on track, Jacobs went for the 1960's with well cut box suit that came in tweed, poka dots, wool, and all types of light girly fabrics. The hat that sat literally on the top of the girl's head were my favorites. The collection went from very business wear, to swimwear, everyday wear, and evening wear that all made sense. A collection made to sale I believe and the clothes were all so beautiful and whimsical making Marc Jacobs in my Top 5 fave collection for Cruise 2011.
